Love is selfish because it often seeks to fulfill its own desires, even when it claims to be selfless. It wants to hold, to keep, to protect, and sometimes to control. In its intensity, love can blur the line between care and possession, leaving us questioning whether we love for the other person’s happiness or for the comfort it brings to our own hearts.
