Introducing Direct: turn your music into merch

We built something that makes it super easy for DistroKid members to start selling merch: meet Direct, powered by DistroKid.

It’s a merch store, but without all the annoying logistics stuff.

All you need is one single or album released through DistroKid. We’ll take your album cover and put it on hoodies, T-shirts, mugs, totes, and prints.

We handle the printing, shipping, and customer support. You just share your store link to start making sales.

Your music, your merch, your money

We made Direct so you can let listeners support you directly, whether you have a big following or one devoted fan who wants to buy a shirt (hey, mom!).

You don’t need any design skills, a website, or inventory. If you've put off opening a merch store because it seemed like too much work, this is the easy version.

Same deal as distribution: you keep 100% of your earnings. Direct is built right into your DistroKid account, so you keep your music and merch in one place.

How Direct works

  1. Upload your music to DistroKid. New here? Sign up for DistroKid and upload a release. You can open your store the same day you release your music.
  2. Sign up for Direct. Your album cover becomes your merch design. You just pick your products, set your prices, and connect your PayPal to open your store.
  3. Start making sales! You get a simple storefront link to share anywhere—socials, your bio, show flyers, you name it.
  4. You keep 100% of your earnings. DistroKid never takes a cut of your sales. All your earnings go straight to your PayPal.

What's next for Direct

Right now you can sell five products in your Direct store: T-shirts, hoodies, totes, mugs, and prints. We're gonna add more merch options and ways for artists to connect directly with their listeners in the months ahead.

Enjoy!
