Music has been a lifelong passion for me. Over time, I have come to appreciate the power of repetition: a number of major musical styles have featured this force of nature. Musical phrases and rhythms that seem to repeat but are actually varying their relation to each other as they go, complimenting each other musically, and making us want to move.
An old friend gave me an African Kalimba as a birthday gift, and I promised her I would compose a piece based on it.
