ABRAM proudly presents his second single following on from his Debut Distressed Angel.
Waiting is a Pop, Soul song with an infectious catchy chorus designed to make you sing and dance along.
ABRAM’S lyrics and storyline have been sympathetically brought to life by the amazing voice of Samuel Ashton. Samuel evokes a rich, soulful tonality which commands attention by the listener. Sung with such feeling and warmth, at times you can hear the desperation and despair in his voice as he conveys the songs story.
When Abram originally wrote the music he played it to his wife as he couldn’t quite picture a theme for the song. She remarked how it reminded her of that feeling of anticipation, when you are waiting, waiting for something to happen, something good. That feeling of aching mixed with excitement. That was enough to inspire ABRAM as they had just binge watched all the Bridgeton episodes together.
The concept was born for the lyrics and also the main character of the song. The character seams to have everything in place, the big house, money, social status, lifetime security, but that all meant nothing as he longed for someone to share that with. The lyrics in the second verse is a daydream of what life could be in the future for him if he had a love and companionship to share everything with. ABRAM references his own life , his marriage and three children as a point of envy and want for the songs main character. The sigh at the end of the song signifies the daydream is over and the realisation sets in. Back to reality, longing for love.
The music has a real deep grained Soul vibe to it but it also incorporates an orchestral and classical feel with Cello and Violin. To also enhance the song there is Piano and Hammond Organ which brings warmth and depth. Multiple guitars and beautiful backing vocals finish off this whole arrangement. I’m so pleased with this song. It was a dream to bring alive and I genuinely hope you like it too.

The video was shot on various hand picked locations in Brighton. Yolanda tried to find areas of conflicting terrain, open spaces to replicate freedom and confined spaces for the feeling of angst and despair.
We wanted the colours to be varied in both Kibrea’s outfits and her surroundings as a stark contrast to Abram and Iloobia’s previous darker feeling music video Distressed Angel. Also Kibrea’s movements and choreography are deliberately repetitive to symbolise being trapped in a moment of time but also can be conceived as coasting happily through life without interruption.
Although there is definitely not a hard and fast storyline to the video, it purposefully has been created to leave room for your own interpretation on the visuals.
I Hope you Enjoy. Thanks for reading.
