Standing in the Smoke is a deeply personal song inspired by my own story of losing two sisters to the political divide fueled, in my view, by Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. It’s about the pain of watching lifelong family bonds shatter under the weight of hate, extremism, and a refusal to truly listen. While it’s my story, it’s also the story of countless families across America who’ve been torn apart in recent years. This song is both a lament for what’s been lost and a stand for the moral lines we can’t afford to cross.
