Flea Song From Goethe’s Faust) is the famous vocal and piano song composed by Beethoven in 1809, Opus 75. Beethoven composed this “Flea Song” based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s “Faust” drama and dedicated it to Princess Caroline Kinsky, wife of Prince Kinsky who was a Patron of Beethoven.  Beethoven and Goethe were good friends and Beethoven composed this playful work based on Goethe’s section in “Faust” which speaks about a large flea which a King loved and had his tailor dress it in regal clothes!
