This song speaks of separation through war, a burden carried by humanity for millennia. At its heart lies the ache of enforced distance: lovers torn apart, partners left behind, and the silent weight of longing.

When I wrote the lyrics to Your Heart Beside Me, I was thinking about the war in Ukraine and imagined those called to the battlefield, holding onto the memory of someone they desperately miss.

No matter the place or time—whether in Ukraine, the Middle East, or any other corner of conflict—the emotions remain the same: love stretched across absence, hope tested by distance, and the timeless pain of waiting.
Two partners express their pain in separate verses—first from the female perspective, in this case then the male. But my ultimate goal is to express emotions and experiences that feel universal, transcending any specific gender identity.
This is the second track I am releasing as a single from my new album, which has the same title: Your Heart Beside Me.
