DistroLock Terms of Service
As of June 1, 2019
This is DistroKid's abbreviated terms of service to provide you a basic understanding of how
DistroLock works. Please note that when you decide to register for a DistroLock account you
will be required to read and agree to the full "Terms of Service"
found here and on the
upload page. You will not be able to register or maintain an account if you do not agree to
the Terms of Service.
Now that that's taken care of, here's the deal.
When you submit a track to DistroLock, DistroLock will generate acoustic fingerprints & submit
them to audio identification services with a request to block unauthorized uploads.
We may also make the fingerprints available to other music services so that
they can block your music from unauthorized release if someone else tries to upload your music to those services.
But DistroKid makes no guarantee that all music services & streaming services will cross-reference their
uploads with DistroLock (or any identification service), or that fingerprint technology will
perfectly identify all unauthorized uploads.
Please also understand that you must own or otherwise have the right to reproduce and distribute
100% of the sound recordings you submit for registration through DistroLock, and you represent
and warrant to us that the exercise of any rights in those sound recordings granted to us will not
infringe upon the rights of any third party.
Once you register for DistroLock, keep in mind that the Terms of Service may change from time
to time. For that reason, check back
here and
here often for updates.
