"Verdi's Dies Irae" is from Verdi's "Requiem" Funeral Mass by Giuseppe Verdi. Verdi composed his Mass for Alessandro Manzoni, a poet, which was first performed in 1874. The "Dies Irae"  section of the Mass contains the famous fast runs, loud orchestral and timpani hits and dissonance - music to conjure the "Last Judgment" or "The Day Of Wrath". "Dies Irae" is a Latin hymn sung in a Requiem Mass most likely from the 13th Century or earlier. The first known melody set to "Dies Irae" was a Gregorian Chant (1185-1265). Shred Angel stops to take out her Judgement Day book to read and make her final decision. Great Kat slams her gavel down with her final decision! Then it's back to shredding and "Verdi's Dies Irae"!
