This is what you get when you ask a metal musician to write a song that is infused with Pop elements. “This Is The Chord That I Play” is an introduction to MAD CHAD the artist. I wrote the song to prove to one of my Berklee colleagues that I could write a song that contained many elements from Pop, Rock, Metal, and Blues. The song is a sarcastic response to the parameters and criticism I received for some of my previous written songs. I used the criticism as a catalyst to create the catchy track. During the song my lyrics are expressing the choices I make when create a new song. I am being sarcastic, but I am also making decisions just like this when I’m creating new music. The lyrics describe the process with some detail in the first and second verses.
