Hello, my name is NIJO. I wrote this song because I wasn't happy with how my life was going at the time. I was in a dark place and felt like I couldn't get out. No amount of hedonism and quick pleasures made me feel better. I finally came to the much need realization that the reason for feeling this way was a direct result of my own bad habits and mistakes.
I wanted to write this song as a reminder to myself that the only person stopping myself from doing better and achieving my goals was myself. I like to think of the creation of this song as a bookmark; a concrete separator between a sad, dark chapter of my life and a much happier, refreshing chapter that I intend to continue turning the pages in for a very long time.
