Yo I'm SJ the Artisan. I'm a rapper, producer, and DJ from Youngstown, Ohio, currently based in Shenzhen. This single means a lot to me. I had the hook to this record for about 4-5 years before I recorded it. Was just afraid to take my music in the direction I truly wanted to go. Ended up meeting this amazing guitarist Ryan Walker in Jiaxing and he helped me bring this record to life. Also had it mixed and mastered by SensayTheOz, also someone like me who does multiple things that I really respect. he also provided backing vocals on the record. I've got a lot of influences, from 2Pac to Earth Wind & Fire, Prince to Nipsey Hussle, Eminem to Parliament Funkadelic, and it speaks to my relationship with music and why it's special to me.
