Introduction from the artist
"Run" was released in Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and many more on 28th November 2020. It was a project 4 years in the making - stemming from the very year I was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. It was within this period that everyday was about emotions and thoughts, snowballing into an urge to write and produce - a track to associate my ordeal with this disease and the ripple effects affecting my loved ones. A chapter that is bittersweet but full of gratitution.
As years past, It came to my consensus that I was my own inspiration. The will and drive to survive, to fight for another day and to be with my family. To do the things I used to do like every other walking, sitting, jumping, swimming, dancing and running soul in this world.
Run. Then I would run three kilometres a day, four times a week. It got me thinking - like life, you run without knowing when, where or how the weather will turn grey before eventually dark on you. Most times however, the sun shines brighter than you would expect thus counting your blessing is your best bet to living and believing.
So run. Run not because you are afraid or escaping from the grim reality of life. Run because you are in control. To chase away the demon in you. Run for the cause. Run because there is hope and life.
This song was made to remind myself of our strength and beliefs and I want to emanate this positivity to everyone who listens to it.
