Introduction from the artist
Hey! I'm Dwaigne. Thanks for helping me Sellout :D I'm an artist currently based in Calgary, AB. I've always been passionate about music, but I only started releasing my own original music recently.
This was my very first release, which first came about back in the summer of 2018. That was a pretty rough summer for me since basically everyone I knew was out of the country. I was feeling lonely, you know? Luckily, one of my best friends was home that summer! One day I just said to her, "Sophomore Summer... pretty much a bummer" and I knew I had to turn it into a song. It's called Sophomore Summer since it was our second summer after starting post-secondary.
It lived in my notes app for a year until summer 2019, when I just suddenly came up with the entire chorus while I was packing boxes at my summer job. I quickly ran to the washroom to get a voice recording of my idea before I forgot it. It literally popped into my head pretty much fully produced, so that was fun haha!
Flash forward to summer 2020... we all know what that summer was like. I was stuck in my room once again! So I decided to take original music more seriously and signed up for an online music production class. I chose to finish this song as my final project and I ended up releasing it as my first-ever single!
I hope that my intro to this wasn't too boring... thank you so much again for supporting independent artists such as myself!
