Thunder Still Remains
Wild West Ballads
Nez Perce War (1877–1904) — Wallowa Valley, Oregon; Big Hole and Bear Paw, Montana; Nespelem, Washington.
Chief Joseph (Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt) kept the Nimiipuu alive on a 1,170-mile flight from the U.S. Army, surrendered short of Canada, and died in exile still asking to go home. Slow traditional Western ballad: acoustic guitar, fiddle, deep baritone.
